HOW DOES A SCHOOL GET STARTED?
At the outset of the program, Powerline recommends that all students in the school who are reading below grade level be referred for testing by the Powerline Programs consultant. Inasmuch as there is a charge for students tested, parents will need to be contacted and written approval made before the testing date. Upon completion, test results are reviewed with the principal, who will set up a group parent conference and subsequent enrollment. At these group parent conferences, each parent is given a record of his childs testing scores. The tests are fully explained so that as the parent looks at his childs personalized test results, the scores can be adequately understood. Instruction may begin as soon as (1) the teacher has been trained, (2) the room and equipment has been secured, and (3) students have been tested and enrolled.
